About US
My name is Eric Daktar. I am the owner and founder of Independent Septic and Sewer. Over the past 13 years, I have worked for 3 different plumbing companies. I have developed my skills through countless hours of troubleshooting on-site septic systems. I have worked with residential and commercial clients, doing up to 3 or 4 calls a day. I specialize in locating tanks, pumping tanks, diagnosing problems, removing roots, cutting concrete sidewalks and driveways to gain access to the tanks, replacing broken tank lids, replacing main sewer lines to tanks, drain field repairs, cleaning and clearing clogs out of the sewer, drain field lines, and more.
I want to be open and honest with customers about their septic systems. If you have any questions at any time in the process, feel free to ask me! I will also ask you detailed questions about the septic system before I come out to your home and give you an offer. I believe in quality workmanship, honesty, and solutions to any problems you may have with your septic system at a reasonable price. I called this company to service our septic tank and make some minor modifications. They were timely, showed up on time and did a great job. The other big benefit is that when I called I talked to the owner instead of some remote answering service. My experience in the past with these sort of companies was that the ball gets dropped. Not so with independent. Highly recommended. Left the job site very clean.

I have our septic tank pumped every five years. I used a previous service for 25 years and started to wonder why they were gettig SO EXPENSIVE. They told me they simply couldnt do it for less so I checked around and found great reviews for Independent Septic. We scheduled quickly, they kept me updated with alerts, and were in and out from the job. Quick and professional. A real pleasure to work with this family business. I have them on my calendar for another visit in five years. I recommend them highly.

Josh and Cody were very helpful and fast! We just bought out house a month ago and had no idea the last time that the septic tank was serviced. I’m glad I found this family owned business in my area with great reviews and had them come service our tank… which is a good thing because it looked like it had been 5-10 years since it was serviced before. I had asked Eric (Josh and Cody’s dad) made sure to text me when they were on their way and he called when the guys were in the area so I could secure my dogs. Very efficient, friendly, and communicative; I highly recommend Independent Septic and Sewer!

We've had our septic tank emptied 3 times since moving into our 1950s home and the guys at Independent Septic were by FAR the best. After a no show from an "easy" septic company, I contacted Eric and he quickly got me on the schedule. Instead of a 9-5 hour window, he gave me a specific time and not only did his sons, Josh and Cody, show up on time, they were actually a couple minutes early!! I even got a text alert saying they were on the way. They quickly got to work and were done before I knew it. They were very professional. Flat charge pricing so no surprises. No sales pitch for unnecessary work that other companies try to push. Can't say enough good things about them. Don't waste your time with calling anyone else.

We cannot say enough about this professional, local, family run business.The office has always been friendly, responsive, and accommodating with scheduling service. And the team that came out to pump our septic was cordial, organized, and efficient. We watched the process from start to finish and felt free to ask anything about what they were doing and what they recommend. Responses were always informative and helpful and never came off as an upscale or push for more services.

Our septic system backed up into the house. Independent Septic arrived in about 2 hours. They pumped the tank and found the pipe leading to the drainage field was blocked. They hydrojetted and pumped the line to free up drainage. Then installed a cap to make future pumping of the tank much easier. They were very informative, professional, and responsive. We will use them again in the future. Really liked Cody and Josh Daktar and their Dad handling the phone. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Had issues with slow drains. Called to have septic tank pumped out. Josh and Cody came out and pumped out the tank. They checked the flow of water coming from the house to the tank and found roots in the main drain. They replaced the main drain and had eveything working with in a couple of hours. They were very professional, explained everything throughly with showing me all the issues. I watched them do the repairs and can tell you they difinitely know what they are doing! I will recommend them to my family and friends.

These guys were very helpful over the phone and in person when they came out for an inspection. They seemed very knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions. Unfortunately they found some issues with the septic that led me to not purchase a home, but it likely saved me headaches down the line. Would not hesitate to use again and highly recommend!

I have lived in my house for over 30 years and had lots of problems with my sewer line. this time I tried independent septic and sewer they pin pointed the problem right away and fixed it for a reasonable price they are very honest and knowledgeable and professional .I would not think twice to use them again . great work guys.

Great company! I called to have our septic tank pumped, and they were able to send a crew out within 48 hours. Josh and Cody showed up ahead of schedule, we’re very polite, pleasant, and informative. They walked us through every step, had us review their work throughout the process, and patched our yard up really well afterwards. I am a service plumber that needed a septic tank pumped unexpectedly to complete my repairs. Called and spoke to a nice gentleman that explained that they were booked. I explained the situation and he squeezed me in. Josh and Cody showed up 20 minutes later. Worked hard to get the tank pumped that full of solids to the lid. Karen F.I called Independent Septic and Sewer for help with my septic problem on Saturday morning and they were at my house within 2 hours and had the job completed in about 4 hours. Eric went step by step and kept me informed about the problem and each step he was taking to bring about the solution. Had a blockage in the septic tank backing up in the basement when we flushed or turn on water in the house. Me and my wife started calling around and companies were days out for service. My wife called independent septic and sewer as we make it down the list with a answer from Eric. With a opening now. 40 minutes later Eric and Josh were at my front door . polite helpful to explain what wrong how they will fix it and seem to be start to finish a hour . will always call them first and tell anyone with septic problem call independent septic and sewer. Great service willing to help your financial needs to get your service complete . AWESOME SERVICE.

Eric & Josh came out to my home today & I was absolutely amazed at the work those 2 men did & how fast it got done. With the problems we were having I assumed it would take well over an hour or 2 maybe even more to fix the issue & they got it done in about 45 mins. On top of that, they were so friendly & they both have amazing people skills. I would absolutely recommend these guys for the job again & again & again!

Called on Sunday and they worked us into the first slot on Monday due to an emergency situation. Eric was great on the phone and explained things. They communicated as they were arriving and showed up on time. Our tank was disgusting and had apparently not been pumped in many years, maybe never. UGH! We bought the house last year and falsely assumed the previous owners had it serviced. Independent Septic had a flat rate service for cleaning the tank. Had we gone with a company that added extra fees for removing sludge, we would have paid far more. Our line from the house was clogged with grease and he ran a camera down the pipe to show my husband what we were dealing with, so we felt having the line power flushed made sense, and the pricing seemed fair, all things considered. Best part, we can flush our toilets again! They were prompt, courteous, stuck to the price we were quoted to clean the tank, and took care of additional maintenance all on the same trip for a fair price in our opinion.
